Incheon Port Authority (IPA) is a government agency in South Korea that manages and operates the Incheon Port, the largest port in the country. The agency has been actively involved in developing renewable energy projects, particularly in the solar sector, as part of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable development.

IPA's solar energy projects are aimed at generating clean energy and reducing the dependency on fossil fuels. In 2016, the agency installed a 2.4 MW solar power plant on the rooftop of a logistics center within the port premises. The project was developed in collaboration with a private company and generates around 2,800 MWh of electricity annually, which is equivalent to the energy needs of around 900 households.

IPA has also installed solar panels on the rooftops of several other buildings within the port premises, including warehouses and offices. The agency has also developed a solar carport system, which is a canopy structure that provides shade for parked cars while also generating solar energy. The carport system has been installed in several parking lots within the port premises and generates around 1,200 MWh of electricity annually.

In addition to these projects, IPA has also developed a floating solar power plant, which is a solar installation that is placed on water bodies such as lakes or reservoirs. The floating solar plant was installed on a water reservoir within the port premises and has a capacity of 100 kW. The project was aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of floating solar installations in the port environment and has been successful in generating clean energy.

IPA's solar energy projects have several benefits, including reducing carbon emissions, promoting sustainable development, and generating cost savings. The projects have helped IPA to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to the country's efforts to combat climate change.
